Indrek Pajus has studied double bass in the Tallinn Georg Ots Music School (Meeme Saarevälja 1994 - 1997) and in the Estonian Academy of Music (Kaupo Oldi, Peeter Paemurru 1998 - 2003). From 1999 - 2000 he studied in the Sibelius Academy (Jorma Katrama) through the Socrates Erasmus exchange programme.

 

In 1997 Indrek won the First Prize at the Young Estonian String Players Competition.

 

Since a young age Indrek has taken part in several orchestras activity, including the Estonian National Opera Orchestra, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. He has also worked with many outstanding conductors like P. Mägi, A. Volmer, N. Järvi, P. Järvi etc.

From 1999 - 2002 Indrek was part of the international Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra where he was the concertmaster of the double bass players and had the opportunity to work with several well-known conductors: Yoav Talmi, Kurt Masur, Yakov Kreizberg, Amy Andersson, Carlos Kalmar. The orchestra also travelled a lot around the world - to Europe, to North and South America, and many Asian countries.

 

From 2004 - 2010 Indrek worked as a double bass player in the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra and as a teacher at the Akureyri Music School.

 

At the moment he is a freelance musician.
