Australian Soprano Amy Corkery graduated from seven years study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2012 achieving a Bachelor of Music in Performance with First Class Honours, and an Advanced Diploma of Opera.

 

Amy has been a finalist in various Australian national and international singing competitions including the McDonald’s Operatic Aria, the Bel Canto Award, the Italian Opera Award and the Fairfax New York Award. 

 

In April 2014, Amy was awarded 3rd Place in the International Tagliavini Singing Competition in Austria, where she was then invited to perform with the Graz Symphony Orchestra at the Graz Opera House.

Amy’s operatic credits include appearing as a soloist in the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed the roles of ‘Arminda’ in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera, ‘Rezia’ in Gluck’s La Rencontre Imprévue and ‘Eurydice’ in Offenbach’s Orfée aux Enfers at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

 

In 2012, Amy understudied the title role of Handel’s Rodelinda with Maestro Richard Bonynge, and in 2013 Amy was offered a place in the Accademia del Belcanto in Puglia, Italy where she understudied the role of ‘Giovanna’ in Verdi’s Giovanna D’arco in the ‘Festival della Valle d’Itria’.

 

Amy has studied intensively with Soprano Yvonne Kenny in London, England and is a student of Maestro Sherman Lowe in Venice, Italy. Throughout 2014, Amy will be performing in various concerts in numerous locations around the world including Europe, the UK and Australia.
